The Trial Practice Program is also useful in evaluating candidates who have contacted your practice directly; feel free to contact your client representative to discuss this attractive option in greater detail.

Many practices experience significant fluctuations in patient volume throughout the year. Medstaff locum tenens is an ideal method of maintaining the optimal patient/provider ratio without making costly long-term commitments.

STAFFING NEEDS ANALYSIS

How do we do what we do? Our support services begin with a comprehensive assessment of your special staffing requirements. Using Medstaff's unique Staffing Needs Analysis, we work closely with you to develop a staffing plan that is just right for your particular practice setting. Our goal is to assist you not only with your immediate needs, but to plan for your future needs as well. The Medstaff team concept ensures that the provider(s) who best meets the needs of your practice will be presented for your approval. Our team of staffing professionals include client representatives, recruiters, account managers, licensure and credentialing experts, and support personnel. These team members work diligently to understand the unique environment of your practice. The result is the placement of the highest quality healthcare providers for your locum tenens need.

The provider resources of Medstaff are unmatched by any other physician staffing firm. Medstaff is part of a national recruiting network. By utilizing the powerful resources of the network, Medstaff has access to quality physicians who are interested in providing only the best care for your patients. This access assures that the candidates presented to your facility possess the clinical skills and interpersonal abilities that are critical to the successful placement of locum tenens physicians.

STAFFING ARRANGEMENTS

Upon receipt of a detailed practice profile containing information about your clinical setting, the Medstaff team will match your requirements to our vast provider network; presenting the curriculum vitae of those candidates who most closely match the availability, clinical abilities, and interpersonal skills that you require. Your Medstaff Account Manager will also provide references and any additional information you request so that you may evaluate each candidate's credentials. Medstaff strongly encourages a telephone interview between the candidate and a representative from your organization who is qualified to evaluate the clinical and interpersonal abilities of the Medstaff provider. This process ensures that your practice receives the finest locum tenens services in the industry with the additional comfort of knowing you have the right to accept or decline any candidate presented.

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR STATUS

The physicians presented by Medstaff work as independent contractors, not as employees or agents of your organization. As independent contractors, these providers are not eligible for any employee benefits, workers compensation, vacation pay, disability or unemployment insurance, or any other employee benefit offered by your practice. All provider remuneration is included in the fees you pay to Medstaff. Your facility retains all revenue generated by the Medstaff-supplied provider. In most instances, the revenue generated by the provider is greater than the charge for our services, making Medstaff locum tenens services an attractive and cost-effective option.

PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE

We assist each Medstaff-supplied independent contractor with procuring professional liability insurance through the Lloyds of London.   This policy provides limits of $1,000,000 per medical incident and $3,000,000 annual aggregate and is a claims made policy written on a group basis.* Therefore, should an incident occur after the Medstaff-supplied providers have ceased providing services, they will continue to be covered by the group policy. In the event that the group policy is not renewed, an extended reporting endorsement (tail policy) will be obtained at no cost to you.

LICENSURE AND CREDENTIALING

To qualify for an association with Medstaff National Medical Staffing, Inc., physicians must meet the highest professional standards in locum tenens. We demand extraordinary clinical references, personal recommendations, and supporting documentation unsurpassed by any other locum tenens firm.

Medstaff's recruitment effort is directed toward well-trained providers with excellent clinical and strong interpersonal skills. We seek relationships with only those who are committed to the highest standards of patient care.

For each Independent Contractor, Medstaff conducts an uncompromising credentialing and referencing process before we present the candidates to our client. Following is a detailed listing of our credentialing requirements.

PERMANENT RECRUITMENT

Many physicians view Medstaff as an avenue for locating the right permanent practice opportunity. By matching these candidates with clients who are actively recruiting, Medstaff successfully places numerous providers each year. If you and a Medstaff-supplied physician wish to form a permanent association, we will facilitate the hiring for a placement fee not to exceed $20,000 for primary care physician and $24,000 for sub-specialties. Many of our clients have found that the benefit of a trial relationship allows for an educated, informed hiring decision. You're hiring a provider who has already proven to be an asset to your practice. No price can be placed on the satisfaction and peace of mind gained in knowing you've made the right choice.

FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS

Medstaff charges vary according to the specialty area and particular practice requirements. Services such as on-call availability and weekend coverage are also available should you need them. Call us for more detailed information about your particular specialty area.

Medstaff does not require payment of an initial deposit with your contract. We feel that no money should be exchanged until an acceptable candidate is identified for your coverage.

To accommodate our provider renumeration schedule, Medstaff will bill you for locum tenens services on a bi-monthly basis. All payments not received within 30 days of invoice shall be subject to a late payment charge of 1.5% per month (or the maximum interest rate allowed by applicable law, if less).
